Housed in Belfast Adult Education at 6B Lions Way, Belfast (in front of the High School), Literacy Volunteers offers free, confidential help with reading and writing, math, and computer skills for adults. Literacy volunteers always needs new tutors and help finding those who need this sort of assistance. Literacy Volunteers also has a sub-committee for Little Libraries (Waldo Reads) which are being placed strategically to give people in various places access to free books. These little cabinets have a sign which says “Take a Book, Leave a Book.” Volunteers are needed to fund, help build and install libraries, and to act as steward to keep libraries stocked with used books, and ensure the cabinet is in good repair.
